Our client is seeking a dynamic, highly skilled individual to serve as Chief Financial Officer in their business office. The ideal candidate will have strong healthcare financial experience. Successful experience in cost reduction initiatives, revenue cycle management, financial reporting, decision support and the budget process. The CFO in this organization must be prepared to interact successfully with the Board, medical staff and all other disciplines. Reduce the days in A/R. Efficiencies in all departments – Revenue Cycle (excluding intake), accounting, information technology, and finance departments.

HEALTHCARE EXPERIENCE ONLY!

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Accounting / Finance or related Business Degree preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in Healthcare setting
  • 5+ years of management experience (preferably with home health or hospice background) Knowledge of governmental payer sources requirements and regulations
  • Must be proficient with office equipment, including, but not limited to, telephone systems, email systems, fax machines, scanners, and copiers.
  • Superior oral and written communication skills required. Extreme attention to detail and a history of demonstrating proficiency in typing, spelling, and grammar required.
  • Must be creative and have strong organizational skills, team building skills, and dispute resolution skills.
  • Must be customer service oriented and demonstrate a positive attitude and a friendly demeanor. Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software, and databases
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to direct and supervise

Billing Manager

Our client is looking for a highly skilled Billing Manager who is focused on creating exceptional learning experiences for children in need. The position will be responsible to manage and work with multiple corporate functions (finance, operations and clinical leadership) in the context of mergers and acquisitions in addition to organic growth.

The Billing Manager will be responsible for all facets of billing including medical with insurance providers and Medicaid, school districts and private pays. Working with medical billing coding specific to ABA Therapy in addition to managing accounts receivable and collection efforts. Preparing documentation of the billing, and collections workflow processes, in addition to making recommendations for process improvements.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years supervisory/management experience in health care setting with strong knowledge of medical collections and understanding of HCFA-1500 claim forms and appeals processes.
  • Recent experience with Central Reach Practice Management software or similar software preferred.
  • Knowledge of CPT & ICD-10 Coding.
  • Understanding of all PPO, HMO, Medi-Cal Affiliated Plans, School Districts, and Regional Center Billing Guidelines.
  • Perform billing and collection duties and tasks and assists with projects as assigned.
  • Proven comprehension of insurance contracts.
  • Familiarity with Insurance, Regional Center, and School Authorizations.
  • Proficient navigating insurance company websites and gaining required access.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of HIPAA rules & regulations.
  • Monitor and coach the billing team to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Experience working with all payer types including third party commercial insurance companies, Medicaid, private-pay, and school districts.
  • Strong analytical and multi-tasking skills, excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail and follow through.
  • Must be able to resolve issues of a routine and complex nature and exercise appropriate judgment to escalate issues to senior management.
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Excel a must, pivot tables and v look-ups desired.

Do you have what it takes to direct the financial activities of a multi-facility healthcare organization? Are you a hands-on, detail oriented manager who loves numbers? Then we’d love to talk to you about our client’s Controller position.

Through subordinate managers, oversees accounting assignments that are of diverse scope requiring analysis of identifiable factors, using multiple accounting and financial sources. Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions, completing analysis, and developing recommendations.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee 3-4 Direct Reports
  • Responsible for the accurate production of the monthly internal financial statements.
  • Establish a monthly close schedule which details the steps required to close the general ledger in the most organized and efficient manner.
  • Develop a monthly financial reporting package to enable the CFO to review the financial statements, key risk areas and statistics.
  • Analyze transactions and ensure that internal policies and controls are in place with regard all transactions that are recorded in the general ledger.
  • Review and sign off on all areas of risk and journal entries over a significant dollar threshold.
  • Determine that all assets and liabilities are accurately reflected in the current period in the general ledger.
  • Support other general ledger requests and analysis as required.
  • Accounting for joint ventures and other external affiliations.
  • Interacts with senior internal and external contacts on matters of some significance to the accounting organization.
  • Responsible for the external reporting of the organization.
  • Oversees the annual audit of the financial statements and act as the main liaison.
  • Oversees and review reporting for regulatory purposes.
  • Maintain a continual review of processing procedures with recommendations for changes in policy when required.
  • Authorize and escalate exceptions to existing policy within approval authority.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a major in accounting REQUIRED
  • Hospital Experience & Big 4 Accounting Firm is a MUST!
  • CPA is a MUST
  • 5-10+ years’ experience as a Hospital Controller
  • Must be Hands On!
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of EPIC computer system preferred
