Do you have what it takes to direct the financial activities of a multi-facility healthcare organization? Are you a hands-on, detail oriented manager who loves numbers? Then we’d love to talk to you about our client’s Controller position.

Through subordinate managers, oversees accounting assignments that are of diverse scope requiring analysis of identifiable factors, using multiple accounting and financial sources. Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions, completing analysis, and developing recommendations.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee 3-4 Direct Reports
  • Responsible for the accurate production of the monthly internal financial statements.
  • Establish a monthly close schedule which details the steps required to close the general ledger in the most organized and efficient manner.
  • Develop a monthly financial reporting package to enable the CFO to review the financial statements, key risk areas and statistics.
  • Analyze transactions and ensure that internal policies and controls are in place with regard all transactions that are recorded in the general ledger.
  • Review and sign off on all areas of risk and journal entries over a significant dollar threshold.
  • Determine that all assets and liabilities are accurately reflected in the current period in the general ledger.
  • Support other general ledger requests and analysis as required.
  • Accounting for joint ventures and other external affiliations.
  • Interacts with senior internal and external contacts on matters of some significance to the accounting organization.
  • Responsible for the external reporting of the organization.
  • Oversees the annual audit of the financial statements and act as the main liaison.
  • Oversees and review reporting for regulatory purposes.
  • Maintain a continual review of processing procedures with recommendations for changes in policy when required.
  • Authorize and escalate exceptions to existing policy within approval authority.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a major in accounting REQUIRED
  • Hospital Experience & Big 4 Accounting Firm is a MUST!
  • CPA is a MUST
  • 5-10+ years’ experience as a Hospital Controller
  • Must be Hands On!
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of EPIC computer system preferred

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in decision support, will be excellent at multi-tasking, and will understand the importance of focusing on training and accuracy. Ensure the organization has implemented the proper enterprise-wide data, reporting and analytics structure to meet the changing needs of the health system. The Director will work in conjunction with other directors and senior leadership of the health system in ensuring that accurate data and information are available to the end users through the organization, to meet identified goals and objectives. The Director will participate in several aspects of the operation of the health system including submission of data to outside entities, clinical quality analytics, and various operational informatics and analytics.

Case Manager – Registered Nurse

Nearterm’s clients are looking for experienced RN Case Managers to become an integral member of their healthcare team. Engage with patients, their families, care givers, and providers to develop relationships providing support and resources to ensure ongoing compliance, best practice and high-quality standards of care are maintained for the patient. Interact directly and indirectly with internal and external clinical staff and providers, delivering excellent customer service.

Primary Responsibilities but are not limited to:

  • Enter patient demographic information into tracking database based on referrals from MD
  • Work closely with office staff to insure all referrals are captured and track all referrals and where they are in protocol
  • Follow patients using protocol under direction of Coordinator and Medical Director
  • Assessment of patient needs to ensure plan of care followed as directed
  • Perform follow up phone calls to patients to ensure compliance with treatment plan
  • Insure results of reports are returned to physicians in a timely manner and notify of any changes and schedules follow up appointments based on protocol
  • Maintain documentation in database
  • Coordinate with scheduling and office as needed
  • Assist patients with scheduling follow up appointments
  • Run reports from database and auditing data

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing required, BSN preferred, (OR) graduate of an accredited masters of social work program (MSW). Master’s degree preferred.
  • 3 -5 years of prior case management experience or healthcare experience
  • Certification in Case Management required within two (2) years of hire into the Case Manager position.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and negotiation skills
  • Detail orientated and highly organized
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Team orientated with a willingness to collaborate
  • Experience in utilization management, case management, discharge planning or other cost/quality management program preferred.
  • Strong analytical, data management and PC skills.
  • Background in medical terminology and familiarity with common medical abbreviations
  • Demonstrated empathetic communicator with a natural service-oriented focus, enjoys working with people to address their needs, and employs motivational interviewing skills
    Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Understanding of pre-acute and post-acute venues of care and post-acute community resources, physician office routines, and transitional procedures for pre and post acute care. Demonstrated understanding of motivational interviewing and change management.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, as evidenced by capacity to prioritize multiple tasks and role components.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in interactions with physicians, payors, and patients and their families

Will handle charts for ER, EM leveling, Trauma, Internal Medicine, OB/GYN, Surgical, Inpatient Rehab, Behavioral Health, Newborns, NICU, and Cardiac departments, as well as all Outpatient and Clinic services. Coding specialties welcome.

  • RHIT, RHIA, CPC or CCS Certification required
  • EPIC, McKesson, Cerner, Meditech and 3M Paragon system experience – preferred
  • 3+ years medical coding experience required
